Our Footprint
A few things we are doing to lessen our impact...
- Since 2003, Portland Audubon has purchased 100% renewable energy for its Cornell Rd and Marmot Cabin campuses.
- We purchase 100% post consumer recycled copy paper from local Grays Harbor Paper in Hoquiam, WA.
- Our new rain garden utilizes rain barrels to capture rainwater for use in watering the native plants we raise for our annual Plant Sale.
- We compost organic waste and recycle glass, plastic and paper on site.
- We are members of Think Local First and support local artisans by featuring their work in our Nature Store.
- Carpooling, walking and cycling to work (climbing Cornell!)
- Energy efficient lighting throughout our buildings
