Outstanding Features  This site has regularly hosted a large colony of Great Blue Herons (>50 nests) for at least 10 years. In addition it has a wide variety of habitats used by a diverse array of birds. The Great Blue Heron colony has been on a small sliver of an island on the north end of Government Island.
