Become a Volunteer
We are looking for volunteers who care about birds and their habitat to help with our Oregon Important Bird Area (IBA) program. Not only will you find it fun and rewarding, it's also a chance to:
- Meet with scientists, conservationists, and others who are passionate about wildlife and the environment;
- Acquire new bird identification skills;
- Protect important habitat for birds;
- Make new friends.
Here's what you can do:
- Stand up and speak about the importance of bird conservation
- Join a conservation team for an area you care about, close to home or at the Oregon coast
- Contribute to the preparation of a site conservation plan
- Participate in hands-on conservation effort
- Learn how to monitor the birds at a site and keep records
