Together Green Days

When: Sep 13, 2008 from 09:00 am to 03:00 pm

Saturday September 13th we will be working to restore some worn and eroded sections of trail in the Collins and Uhtoff Sanctuaries.

We recently received a grant from National Audubon and Toyota to organize six volunteer projects in our sanctuaries in the coming year. Project goals include restoring some well seasoned sections of trail, installing some new fencing along sensitive areas of Balch Creek, removing invasive ivy, and tree plantings.

Each day-long project will begin with an orientation to Portland Audubon and our sanctuaries, and an introduction to that day’s project. With a healthy turn out we are sure to have lots of fun while helping to keep our sanctuaries healthy and accessible.

The first two Together Green Days have been scheduled. Saturday September 13th we will be working to restore some worn and eroded sections of trail in the Collins and Uhtoff Sanctuaries.

Saturday October 4th we will be replacing sections of old fencing and installing some new fencing in several areas along Balch Creek. We need your help! Check your calendars and save the dates. If you would like to sign up for one or both of these projects please contact our volunteer coordinator Deanna Sawtelle.
